With Major League Baseball kicking off, countless baseball players around the country are dusting off their bats and oiling up their gloves in anticipation of the upcoming season.

From the little league teams and the high school ball players to those seated in the stands, spring in Bartow County is less about the birds and the bees and more about hitting the baseball diamond.

Todd Seigler, owner of Extra Innings, a baseball and softball training center located at 14 Felton Place in Cartersville, said it’s never too late to start train-ing for the season.

“It’s about having everything in the right place at the right time,” said Seigler, who provides personal training sessions for a wide range of talents, from tee ball to softball.

In addition to personal training, Extra Innings also provides automated batting cages, an equipment store and space for private birthday parties, said Alysia Seigler.

Todd Seigler has a bit of advice for players interested in improving their swing.

“The earlier you start working on the basic techniques, the better, Seigler said. “The best thing is to come in here and give it a try. You’ll definitely see some improvement.”
